Pearl Izumi was founded by Kinji Shimizu in 1964, based in Japan Kinji’ son Hiro raced for the National team and when gifted his 1st Nylon based cycling jersey in that year it sparked Kinji in to developing a range of clothing that not also used the latest fabrics but Kinji also studied the motion of the body to create a fit that was un-paralleled. Pearl Izumi was developed form this foundation and is still at the fore front of cycling clothing.
